Sunday (day 24)

Good evening everyone. Shawna remains quite stable. The CT scan from yesterday did show some fluid buildups. They proceeded today to drain them and obtain a sample so they can properly treat it with antibiotics to clear it up. They have removed the stomach bile drain from her mouth. They also plan to start Shawna on a liquid lunch direct to her lower intestine through the feeding tube as there was no leaks from the test feed a couple of days ago. The respirator remains steady and Shawna seems quite at ease for her breathing.
Once again we may be thankful for the professional care of the General nurses and doctors. The loving care of our Creator is evident in his childs progress and we continue to thank Him for his tender mercies to our family. Yours in Christ. Al and Deb

It is great to hear that Shawna is holding her own and continues to take those steps--whether they are leaps or baby steps-- both are progress. It is so good to see how God has and continues to carry you through this time of trial. May you rest in the knowledge of His goodness.
You are all in our prayers

Dear Al and Debbie, Darryl and family:
Every day we look for an update on how our young sister in the Lord is doing, and every day faithfully there is a report from Al. We are so thankful for this blog. It shows us, what we have as communion of saints to belong to the family of God. What a blessing!
Yesterday we were in Beamsville for supper, and our relatives, who had never known Shawna nor her family told us that their prayers were with you all as well. We are so blessed to have such an awsome God. snd to know that Shawna is safely in His almighty hands. We pray for continued strength and comfort for the family and healing for Shawna.

Dear Al and Deb and Darryl and family,
Thanks so much for taking the time to update the blog. Everyday we read it to the family. We are praying for you and are happy that Shawna seems to be getting a little better. We pray that God will continue to hold you in the palm of His hand through the good and difficult times. We heard that the wedding went very well. We're happy for Rebecca and Shawn. Some day we hope to come out and visit. What a blessing that we have the communion of saints. Love, Arthur and Betsy
