Tuesday morning

Good morning everyone. We've been forced to finally get a good nights rest. Shawna received a new "roomie" last night. With the amount of initial work they have to do on new patients they did not want us in the same room. Therefore we were forced to leave. When we returned this morning we were told Shawna had an unevetful night. That was a blessing in itself for now we know we can get some sleep so we can continue to function. Shwna will be getting a CT scan later today the facial swelling is gone and the puffines in hers skin around her fingers and arms is sarting to go away as well. She is now recieivng a liquid lunch(looks a lot like 1 litre bag of milk). They want her system to start functioning to also help with the drainage of excess fluids which the body was storing due to trauma. They have washed her hair and she looks beautiful with nice colour and long braids. They worked so hard braiding it to save it before they cut her open. We are so very thankful for the outporing of Gods holy spirit working in his childrens heart to respond to our need. We are lifted high upon eagles wings so we can see clearly gods plan in all of this. We won't pretend to know his whole plan but several things have been made plain. We will never ask why this happened because we know several significant things which would never have happened otherwise. Please continue to pray for us and by God's grace we may be able to inform you of more positive progress. Thank you everybody. On behalf of the family

I am so happy and thankful with every positive bit of news!
I'm praying that one day Shawna will be healthy enough to see and write for herself on this blog and know the miracles God has done in her life!
I think all of us are learning new things through this, whether it's patience, trusting in God, the importance of friends/family and/or the power of prayer!
All who are affected are in my prayers, especially you, Bethlehems and Darryl.

All praise to our Heavenly Father with the progress of your dear Shawna. Although we don't know Shawna, your story hits home, as my husband was also in Hamilton General with head injuries, and I most definately know the overwhelming emotions you are having to deal with in this time of uncertianty. I also, however, sense the Lord's sovereign hand in this situation through your faith and know without a doubt that you are being carried. The Lord is faithful and His promises endure. Continue to look to Him and He will give you strength. We will also continue our lives with a heavy heart for your needs, bringing them daily to our God most high. In all sincere regards,

Psalm 46
For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to Alamoth. A song.

1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Selah

8 Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth.

9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire.

10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
